3Dicom Surgical is an intuitive medical imaging solution specifically developed based on feedback from radiologists and surgeons from a diverse range of specialities.

The dicom viewer includes standard measurement and radiology tools required by surgeons in addition to advanced 3D segmentation and remote collaboration tools with the aim of providing advanced surgical planning features at an accessible price point. With our rapid 3D visualization converting CT & MRI scans into a patient specific anatomical model, 3Dicom Surgical is driving better clinical decisions.

Local DICOM directory with full PACS server integration

Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS) form the backbone of most hospitals and healthcare systems enabling the transfer of medical images. 3Dicom Surgical integrates with most PACS systems to allow you to query by patient name, date of scan and date of birth, retrieve images and save edited DICOM images back to the PACS server.

The software also has a local DICOM directory allowing for the storage of unlimited patients loaded from PACS, local storage & removable media such as USB/CD. This locally stored database is securely stored on your device and enables almost instantaneous loading times whilst still preserving patient confidentiality (it doesn’t store scans retrieved from PACS servers and/or removable media that aren’t locally stored with consent).

Immersive Camera Controls

Whilst not providing the complete immersion possible with Virtual Reality in MedVR, 3Dicom Surgical provides the ability to not only rotate the patient-specific volumetric model but to also rotate an internal camera.

This allows the user to look around at a particular area whilst inside the body & quickly take screenshots/video or mark certain areas of interest.

3Dicom Surgical provides users with unlimited hot key mapping for full personalisation and easy immersive controls so users can change HU values, capture screenshots and develop fast workflows all while exploring their patients anatomy in 3D.

3D & Volumetric Measurement (Beta)

Using the DICOM meta-data of pixel spacing from every slice rather than using averages, the software very accurately recreates the anatomy in 3D which allows for measurements on the 2D slices to be translated into a 3D Point to Point measurement. These 3D Point-to-Point measurements also provide the resultant Axial, Sagittal and Coronal vectors which is highly useful for surgical positioning.

In addition to 3D Point-to-Point measurements, our team is currently beta-testing a 3D angle measurement tool and combined with manual segmentation and drawing tools, a 3D volumetric measurement tool for calculating the estimated volume of an organ and/or organ at risk.

Share annotated & edited files with patients & colleagues

As an extension of the Lite & Pro features to capture screenshots (with and without the markups respectively), the Surgical tier allows for the quick sharing of the full quality images direct from the image gallery in the Capture Tab via Email and/or QR code.

Surgical users can also quickly anonymise scans and choose which markups, annotations and other edits to include/exclude when saving.

Anonymised scans with a unique ID can be shared with colleagues (with consent), with the patient themselves and even to public databases for research purposes and the development of AI. Finally, 3Dicom Surgical will supported structured report reading and creation with the option to select key images and automatically populate PDF reports with key images and the text from annotations for a more traditional approach.

Manually segment anatomy (Coming Soon)

Building upon the drawing tools in the Pro tier, Surgical allows for the manual segmentation of particular anatomy by highlighting/masking the specific area of interest on multiple slices to generate a volume of interest. These volumes of interest can then be saved as their own DICOM or NiFTI files in addition to being converted and exported as 3D surface mesh models to STL/OBJ file formats.

Securely share and work on the same 3D volumetric model & 2D images at the same time from anywhere with an internet connection.

Share and explain results in real-time with patients or consult directly with the radiologist or other specialists on complex cases with inbuilt voice & chat functionality.

Virtual surgical planning (Coming Soon)

Users will be able to manipulate and overlay these files of bespoke surgical implants, pedicle screws and much more to virtually plan their surgeries and record a step-by-step plan ahead of the theatre.

Combined with the ability to generate your own volumetric and surface models with manual segmentation, 3Dicom Surgical will allow for the importation of common 3D file types such as .STL & .OBJ.
